Concord real Estate
Concord California is located 30 minutes East of Oakland and is near Walnut Creek and Lafayette. The weather is warmer that most of the bay area in the summer months and a bit cooler during the winter. For those determined to find a more suburban lifestyle Concord real estate may be the way to go.
Concord was named Todos Santos (All Saints) by Don Salvio Pachecho but would not identify the new town for long. Concord was heralded as the new name around 1869. Today Concord has grown to 130,000 and is the largest city in Contra Costa County. Todos Santos plaza is the home of many shops and is a tribute to the former name of the city of Concord. Concord is also known for a naval weapons station ‘Port Chicago’ which at the end of the second world war was the location of a huge explosion felt over the entire bay area and killing hundreds of servicemen instantly.

Today Concord is largely a suburban community with many of the homes dating back before World War II. Larger corporations that call Concord home include Chevron and Bank of America. Concord is home of the Concord Jazz Festival, and event that draws jazz musicians from all over the bay area and California. Concord has many car dealerships and is also the home of De La Salle High School where the school is well known for it’s sports programs and they're football team which has won many national championships. Concord is home to actor Tom Hanks and jazz musician Dave Brubeck.
